Storm-related power outages and restoration efforts
Basseterre, St. Kitts (August 13th, 2024)— The St. Kitts Electricity Company Ltd. (SKELEC) is aware of the numerous storm-related outages affecting our valued customers across the island. We understand the challenges and frustrations these disruptions cause.
The safety of our team and the community is our utmost priority. Due to the high winds and wet conditions, our restoration efforts tonight will be done on a small scale. While our crews will be working on a small scale, ensuring the safe return of power to certain areas, we anticipate that many customers will be without electricity overnight.
We want to assure you that as soon as it is safe to do so, our team will conduct a thorough assessment of the electrical infrastructure across the island. Full restoration work will resume tomorrow to restore power to all affected areas as swiftly as possible.
