Restoration Work Continues at St Christopher Club following Electrical Fire
Following an electrical fire which engulfed our St. Christopher Club Substation in Frigate Bay yesterday (Wednesday 23rd October), SKELEC crews continue to work around the clock to secure complete restoration as quickly and safely as possible.
As of 11:30pm on Wednesday evening as much as 70 percent of customers affected by the outage was restored, i.e. St. Christopher Club Gardens, as well as the majority of St. Christopher Club residences. Unfortunately however, Rock Lobster Restaurant, and one complex at the St. Christopher Club are still without power.
Today, our cable crews continue to repair and replace damaged cables so that power can be restored to Rock Lobster Restaurant and surrounding areas while our metering teams work to install 18 meters to facilitate restoration of supply to the final building which remains without power. Please note restoration work can be further delayed due to heavy rainfall.
While we understand how frustrating it may be for our customers to be without power for extended periods of time we wish to assure the affected customers that our teams are working around the clock to ensure full restoration. We take this opportunity to thank our customers for the patience shown thus far. For more information regarding this outage please stay tuned to our Facebook page, website, and WhatsApp channel.
